Little Red Cav'lier
Bekah made it here from San Diego a little while ago. She may change her mind after living with me for a little while, but the idea is that she'll take a little more of an extended break from travel nursing than she's taken lately. She mentioned possibly looking for a house of her own just so she could build up some equity of her own, but she knows she has the option of staying here, too.

A coworker and I made a quick trip to Milwaukee on Monday, flew back Tuesday, to check out LSS of Wisconsin's VoIP (voice over IP) phone system and learn some from their experience about the general ballpark cost of such a system and what all it has to offer. We're supposed to talk about that some at a meeting tomorrow, but I heard towards the end of the day today that our boss is on his way to see his new grandbaby in, I believe, Traverse City, so I'm guessing he won't be there tomorrow, unless I'm wrong about the grandbaby being in Traverse City. Eh.

What else? Not much. Yet, somehow, I feel like it's been a long time since I've had any real downtime. One of my coworkers asked me this morning how my trip was and I blanked for a few seconds and couldn't remember what trip she was referring to... and I'd just gotten back Tuesday night! I blame the sleepiness!

Oh!!! And I bought a new (used) car recently! I got a 1998 Chevy Cavalier, coupe, red. Simple little car, nothing fancy for now. Too many other things demanding my money at the moment that are more important to me than having some fancy car. I still have the 626 for now. There's a few things I should get fixed before I sell it off. I'll post pictures of the Cavalier whenever I get around to taking some. :)

What's the bluebook value on the 626 and how much are you selling it for?

Ok, I guess this is like blog format, or something? I guess there are some benefits.

blame me, not LJ
It's a special hack of mine intended to make this less of a LiveJournal and more of a blog... so usernames are replaced with real names where I know them (but I don't have to use your real name if you'd rather I not) even for me. I guess it'd probably be more polite of me to use people's journal names rather than their real-life names since they have control over that. I'll look into how to do that and then make that change. Sorry for the confusion!

Re: blame me, not LJ
I don't have spiders disabled because I'd like people to be able to find my blog via a web search, so, yeah, I switched it to use your name, if specified, or username if a name was not specified, but this layout doesn't link to anyone else's journal (even the friends page is hidden to everyone but me). I guess if I'm not going to use people's real first names I might change that at some point, but not right now.

And it should be noted that if you reply to someone's comment on here who has an LJ and has email comment notification turned on, they'll see your LJ username with a link to your journal in the email, so replacing people's usernames with their real names was probably a bad idea for several reasons.

In any case, all of that's been fixed and I'll screen the comments in this post where real names have been mentioned (so that spiders don't pick it up). How does all of that sound to you? Any ideas or suggestions?

Re: blame me, not LJ
It's not that big of a deal. If I had to choose, I'd use Reyn. I just think my real name is too uncommon and I hate when really old stuff comes up in a search, you know.

But you didn't answer this question:
What's the bluebook value on the 626 and how much are you selling it for?

Yeah, I did, but I see LiveJournal's been acting a little screwy with the comments, so you may have missed it. I explained the issues it currently has and gave all the info about the car and its Kelley Blue Book value here. If you're interested or know someone who might be, give me a call and we can talk about it over the phone.

626 blue book
Well, see, here's the thing...

I think the compressor for the A/C needs to be replaced and there's a problem that causes the car to stall out a lot. I'd taken it in to the shop for its 120,000 mile service a while ago and they told me what was wrong with it (but I can't remember right now what they said) and the guy said that it'd be about $300 to fix, but they didn't tell me until I'd gotten there to pick up the car or I would have had them do it before I got it back. Oh, and there's a long crack in the windshield. All those things would need to be fixed before I sell the car to anyone or the price would have to be adjusted accordingly. I think my preference would be to get it fixed before selling it, though, to make sure it really was fixed and didn't end up costing a lot more than expected.

All that said, it's a 2000 626 ES with about 127,000 miles on it. "Fair" condition private party Blue Book value is $4,390. The private party Blue Book value for "Good" condition, which I think would only apply if I got those things mentioned above fixed, is $5,080.

Re: testing
I did have it so that your name came up, but I changed it to only show the name you specify in the userinfo page. Notice the name it shows for you is not your LJ username. That way, you still have control over what it shows for your name and I wouldn't have to ask people permission to display their real names instead. If you'd rather I set it to display your real name, just let me know. It would be a trivial change.
