family ties
My Uncle John has emailed, apologizing for not letting us know about my Granddad sooner and there's been a couple more emails back and forth since then. What we basically end up with is that neither part of the family has done a good job of communicating what's going on with the other. We don't interact with each other that often, so we aren't at the forefront of each others' minds when something happens. It isn't intentional. It's just the way it is.

So I've decided that I'm going to try, at the very least, to do a monthly letter type of thing. Like what people on my mother's side of the family do. We'll see how long I can keep that up! :-)

Dude!
Paul, you look SO different. I know you told me you cut your hair but even your face looks different. I'm not sure I would recognize you if I just saw you randomly on the street. I'll try and find a picture of my self and post so you can tell me if I look the same or not. My hair is different. I stopped relaxing it during my second year in college. I weare it a bunch of different ways. I've gained a little weight, I'm about 130ish now...

Hehe... yeah, the hair's been gone for a long time! But, yeah, I've, um, filled out since high school. I no longer look malnourished and you can see it in my face. :-) In fact, the last time I visited King, a number of teachers commented on how "healthy" I looked. I weigh about 165 right now. I think that means I'm about average, but I don't pay attention what people are "supposed" to weigh, so, eh, whatever. I'll have to post more pictures sometime.

That's okay. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised. In college, I'd have to literally run into people before they'd realize who I was. In a weird way, I enjoy that sense of invisibility.

Yeah, post a picture! I'm sure I'd still recognize you if I saw you on the street. Because, you know, that'd mean I was China and I'm guessing you might stick out a little. ;-)
